Hi Everyone!

What a week! Ms. Sera and I are loving getting to know your kiddos better and seeing them shine in all of their academic and social glory! We are definitely working on expected behaviour in the classroom, building our learning stamina (trying to make it the afternoon with a little energy) and figuring out our new routines.

Some of the things we started this week are: new literacy stations, Weather as our first Science unit, discussions around Orange Shirt day and what it means. We took some time outside today to practice our sit spots as well as reflect on The Orange Shirt Story by Phyllis Webstad. We also found so many ladybugs and spent time observing them and collecting them.

The class also wrote some incredible paragraphs about what it means to be a friend. I was really impressed with their work and loved reading their ideas. They also did a great job of using paragraph format.

We started Coordinate Geometry with a show what you know about Geometry! We will move into plotting and moving points next week as well as playing battle ship using a coordinate plane.

And we played Talk about, Act it out, Draw it out to introduce some of our new vocabulary words!

and here is some cool art from EB!
