An elf visited on Wednesday! - Chase

From the teachers:

This week had so many highlights! We had our first Festive Wear Wednesday and our class was 'cooking' 😁.

Which list is Elfie Chase making this year? πŸ˜‚

We also went our field trip to the Hangar Flight Museum! This was a hit!! Both the students and adults had an excellent time! Thank you to our volunteers :)

Writing & Science
We also got to test out our paper airplanes in the gym after finishing up writing our procedures for how to make them! Students also were asked to share their instructions with a partner and then try to make the same plane. During our whole class reflection, students identified that when following steps for how to build something, it is helpful to have: pictures for each step, clear direction, enough detail to follow and accurate use of directional language. Everyone worked with a teacher-chosen partner and Mrs. Barnden was jazzed about how well everyone cooperated and worked together!

Math
In Math, we focused on stem and leaf plots while we working on Statistics. Students were asked to plot some data as well as unscramble data to get more comfortable with the unique way that information is displayed on a stem and leaf plot.

In gym, we started skipping! The photos speak for themselves! These students are really amazing skippers with many being able to accomplish the difficult challenge moves!

On Friday we had buddies and we helped them play a math game - Race to 100! And then we went outside to further test out our rockets and measure the distances that they were able to fly!

And Lizzie presented her Expert Station presentation on OWLS!
