Winter Walk Day, more like spring is here day!

We chose to keep it close to the school and spent some time walking our own field and checking out the different land changes.

Clinton was full of many wonderful observations!

Shorts weather!

ARSH IS BACK! We are so glad :)

Restart
Big Nate and Robin were helping us with learning more about Black History in honour of February being Black History month, as well as consent, boundaries and how to deal with peer pressure. Students participated in a really interesting activity where they had to respond to peer pressure (from Nate and Robin) and make the right choice for them. Many students commented "that was intense"

Math
We are wrapping up stats still and spent some time reviewing stem and leaf plots with decimal numbers! We did our SWYK! Many students expressed some nervous feelings around completing a SWYK. This is something we will be addressing in the further in the future. We were also wrapping up addition and subtraction with decimals...so many SWYK tasks this week! The students were incredible and showed off all of their hard work.

GYM

Curling is a blast! Friday in gym was GaGa Ball day and Mr. Newton had some Olympic events playing in the background! So many of our students were loving watching the curling events!

Science
As we were wrapping up our focus on buoyancy, we used all of the maker materials to create a device that could float. Students were challenged to not only make something that could float, but that would also hold weight in order to transport animals. There were many successful devices and the kids had a blast working together and testing their creations!

Buddies!
We visited our grade two buddies this week and they shared their social studies projects with us. They learned about the different physical regions of Canada and shared their posters with us. It's always nice to see what other classes are doing and learning about :)
