Thank you!

Thank you so much to all our families for attending conferences. We loved catching up with everyone and sharing so many positives. We have a great bunch of students and you have a great bunch of kiddos. 💜

Gym

We wrapped up 9 square this week, a volleyball inspired take on 4 square. It was great to see all the students participate in this game! They worked on hand-eye coordination and setting the ball to score.

Restart
We said good bye to Big Nate and Robyn this week! We wrapped up our learning with a fun jeopardy review game where students worked collaboratively to review concepts we discussed. One good one was ambiguous consent! Students also received a self-care fortune teller to help them remember to take care of their mental and physical health this spring break.

Math

We have continued working on area and perimeter as well as multiplication and problem solving this week. For area and perimeter we focused on using the formulas to find area and perimeter. We also reviewed why area is measured in squared format! Here is a sample question students would have been working on.

Followed by the solution where students used L x W to find area and S + S + S + S to find perimeter:

For Multiplication, students have been working on 3 by 2 digit questions and applying their understanding to read and solve word problems!

Art
We finished up our identity name sculptures. They look really cool and it was a good challenge to have students attach them and make sure they can stand on their own.

Social Studies
Students have been researching about innovations, social structure/systems and government of one of 4 ancient civilizations. They explored taking notes in different ways to record their understandings of the articles, videos and presentations they read, and will create a presentation on google slides. Once complete, they will share with their peers teaching them about the civilization they researched.

Have a wonderful spring break! See you March 30th!
