The Drum Fit Days...Part 1!

IMPORTANT UPCOMING DATES:

April 20 - Enrolment Intentions Forms due by Monday (using a computer, not a phone or tablet if you have difficulties)

April 22 – EARTH DAY SPIRIT DAY: Wear blue or green for Earth Day

April 23 – Grade Five families with students attending Nose Creek – Open House at Nose Creek from 5:15 – 6:30pm

April 24 – Non-Instruction Day – No school for students

May 14 - Super Hero Family Dance - 6:00 to 8:00 (See Northern Lights News for more details!)

We also started working on a project for Support Staff Appreciation week for Mrs. Barrowcliff and Ms. R! - Lizzie

Math

We have been working hard on solidifying our understanding of how to calculate perimeter and area as well the relationships between different units of measure! Such as calculating centimetres to milimetres or centimetres to metres. We also did a fun hands-on task with a squared meter (see photo), and then curiosity piqued and we needed to see how tall the tower would be. Next week, we will continue on with further developing our understanding of squared metres and how they connect to to other squared units of measure.

Science

This week we wrapped up our focus on Matter and the students completed an exit ticket as well as created posters to demonstrate what they've learned during this unit! Ask them if they can describe the three states of matter and how the particles move within those three different states!

Social

We are nearly done our unit on Government, Innovations and Social Structure of Ancient Civilizations. Students have spent quite a bit of time researching and recording their information into cohesive paragraphs on each topic.

Gym

It was the week of DJ "Drum Fit" NEWWWWWWTON. The pictures speak for themselves! What a great way to have fun and stay fit! The students did a great job and had a lot of fun!
